Minimally invasive bunion surgery for 50-year-old Toronto woman
posted: May 14, 2014.
On May 8, 2014, a very lovely 50-year-old lady came into my office to have me check her orthotics. They were made for her after I performed bunion surgery for her. The left bunion procedure was performed on April 4, 2011 and the right bunion procedure was performed on April 4, 2012. In my Toronto podiatry clinic, I often reccommend orthotics for patients following bunion surgery. Although the bunions are not likely to come back following surgery, due to the fact, in addition to removing the bump I also make the first metatarsal straighter, orthotics can help to improve the mechanics that caused your foot problems and can also prevent future problems.
Below are before and after photographs of this lady's foot. If you or any of your family members suffer from bunions, hammertoes, plantar fasciitis, heel pain, or other foot problems, please contact our Toronto podiatry office at (416) 486-9917.
